“Secrecy” is the word of the day in this edition of Star Wars Bits. Below, find out how two different stars are handling it, and learn hints of several things shrouded in secrecy, as well as the following:
In mid-2012,Lucasfilm announcedan animated comedy series calledStar Wars Detours.Fans were puzzled by the show, created bySeth GreenandMatt SenreichofRobot Chicken. However, once Disney purchased the franchise, the showwas put on a shelf. The first season ofStar Wars Rebelsisn’t quite over yet, but it’s getting there. ActressVanessa Marshall, the voice of Hera, spoke toEntertainment Weeklyabout the role and had this comment on the final episode:
The season finale took my breath away. Just reading it on the page I hyperventilated. It’s just, bam! It’s a home run. Bam! It’s so good. I cannot wait to see how they animate it. I haven’t seen it animated. It’s so good. It will not disappoint.
In his young career,Domhnall Gleesonhas done a few big movies: multipleHarry Potterfilms,Never Let Me Go, Dredd, True Grit, etc. But according to him, the level of secrecy surrounding his work onStar Wars: The Force Awakensdemolishes them all. He said the following talking to theRadio Times, viaMaking Star Wars.
I would say it’s the most secrecy I’ve had to work with, just because you have to sign so many things. I don’t even talk about it – I’m not even afraid I’ll let anything slip anymore, I’m just aware that it’s actually boring, because I know the answer is I can’t talk about it….Once I got to set, the way JJ was working and the love, the genuine love for Star Wars that was everywhere on set – it made me want to protect those secrets. It wasn’t like I was contractually obligated to keep them.
Adam Driveris on the same page. At the premiere of this new season ofGirls,MTV askedDriver’s co-stars if he’s willing to spill secrets toThe Force Awakens. He apparently “gets off” on not sharing. Watch the funny video below.

Frankly, I’m pretty surprised we haven’t seen aStar Wars: The Force Awakens teaserposter yet. It feels like the right time to get that thing out there. Nevertheless, it seems like Lucasfilm has began marketing the film other than the trailer.Star Wars Influenceshost Paul Bateman (viaSW Underground) tweeted out the below image from a Japanese subway.
A writer on theforce.netcontacted Lucasfilmwho told him the banner is “local market promotion” for Star Wars in general and not an official poster for the movie.
Finally,Making Star Warsdescribes a new piece of concept art detailing a few possible variations on what they call a “Tri-Wing Fighter.” If true, it’s an extremely interesting description, with details that sound unlike anything we’ve seen in Star Wars before. Read the potentially spoiler filled description at the link.
