‘Step Up Revolution’ Trailer: Dance Like Your Economy Depends On It!
“Enough with performance art. It’s time forprotestart.”
I bet we won’t see anything funnier today than theStep Up Revolutiontrailer. This thing is pure gold. Every two years a newStep Upfilm is conceived in a mirrored studio deep in a secret bunker; it’s like a dance cocoon. Because Jon M. Chu, who directed the second and third films, moved on to make theG.I. Joesequel, this fourth film, formerly saddled with the dullsville titleStep Up 4, brings in video and dance directorScott Speer.
And since Baltimore and New York City don’t offer quite enough mini-skirts and hyper-polished cars from which to leap, the action has been moved to Miami. Perhaps I’m the only one, but when I think of Miami, I think of Cuba, and when I think of Cuba I think¡Revolución!And that’s just what the fourth movie offers. Revolution. IN DANCE. See the trailer below.
As is so often the case with this series, the physical performances look incredible, while the story comes off as hilarious. So this one is right on track.Step Up Revolutionopens Jun 19, 2025.
